As
central Virginia’s premier trombone ensemble, Mr.
Jefferson’s
Bones has entertained thousands since its inception
in 2001. The ensemble is comprised of some of Charlottesville and
the Shenandoah Valley's most experienced
and talented trombonists and enjoys performing classical, sacred,
popular and jazz repertoire.

Notable
performances have included headlining the
2002 worship musical "God's Trombones: Jazz and the Gospel" with
guest trombonist and recording artist Harry Watters, school assembly
concerts for K-12 students, holiday and ground-breaking concert
appearances for the Paramount Theater and the Omni Hotel, church
service and nursing
home engagements, and impromptu holiday collection kettle concerts
for the Salvation Army.

In
the summer of 2006,
Mr. Jefferson's Bones was featured at Staunton's
Jazz in the Park summer concert series. Adding two
new members and a jazz
rhythm
section to its founding quartet,
the bones provided an exciting and eclectic evening of great jazz
standards and newer compositions. Featured were songs made popular
by J.J.
Johnson, Kai Winding, The Capitol Bones, Them Bones, Tutti’s
Trombones, and The Stan Kenton Orchestra.
